King Cole Pricewise DK Yarn review

Hey yarn lovers, if you’re like me and you love buying yarn then you know it can get a bit pricey. I have to budget so when buying yarn I have to be savvy, I look at yarn that’s on sale or I buy the cheaper ranges of named brands.

Sometimes the cheaper alternatives are not too good, they feel scratchy against the skin which rules out making wearable items or blankets but ok for things like coasters or pot holders, but they’re not all like that. I have found some gorgeous cheap yarn that’s soft and snuggly and have made beautiful scarves and blankets out of them.

I was shopping for some yarn on LoveCrafts.com recently for a blanket I’m going to make and I came across King Cole Pricewise DK, it was only £1.79 for 100g and there were a lot of colours to choose from so I ordered 8 balls in 4 different colours.

It arrived the next day and I was super excited to see what it would be like! My first impression of the yarn was that the colours were gorgeous, really bright and vibrant, so far so good, now I needed to see how it felt.

Now, I’m pretty sure you all have a yarn feel test of your own, I see how the yarn feels against my neck and face and I give the yarn a good squeeze to see how squishy it is, your method may be different!

So I did my feel test, it felt quite soft against my skin, not scratchy or itchy, I have felt softer yarn but this yarn felt nice and it was quite squishy.

I was not disappointed with this yarn at all, it’s really good value for money, £1.79 for 100g, 100% acrylic and 290 metres. The colours were lovely and there are plenty to choose from, the site I ordered from carried 58 shades, I’m not sure if that’s the complete range but still enough to choose from in my opinion. It’s not the softest yarn I’ve ever felt, I wouldn’t make baby clothing with it, but I would make scarves and hats for adults and it will be nice for the blanket I’m planning on using it for. I will buy this yarn again, there are a few more colours I want to get for my blanket.

All in all it’s a great budget yarn, worth the money and I would recommend it.

I hope you have found this post helpful and I’ll see you next time.
